I felt the what could only be sand underneath me, it was so hot, yet refreshing. I began to walk through the narrow course of trees until I saw an end to the path. Then I saw it, the ocean. It was like every movie I had ever seen. It was so clear due to the salt, and it glistened like a pasture covered. Strolling down a beaten dirt trail with green mossy trees on either side. A soft breeze brushes a kiss against my cheek, as it pushes past, earth mixing with sea salt hits my nose. Walking along the winding dirt trail until the texture beneath my toes change. The trees part and on either side the trees rise into the air, becoming cliffs as far as my eyes can see. Instead of dirt beneath my feet it has been replaced by sand in between my toes.

I walk towards the white cap waves where the water washes up against my ankles excitedly and then pulls back with remorse. Sea mist leaves a moist kiss against my cheeks and then. I looked back at the ocean one last time before the sun left. It seemed to give off heat waves. I then turned around and started on the short sand trail back to my car with Jeff. As we approached the wooden picket fence, sand found its way into my sandals and between my toes. It felt like dirt. Look at the footprints across the vast area of the beach, so short in existence. Here one minute and gone the next, washed away with the ever turning tide.

These footprints imprinted in the sand tell a story that is mine, the changes in my life thus far. A change that once impacted upon my life was never to be the same again. For just this one moment time would stand still. It was just me and the ocean, nothing more, nothing less, everything else but the rhythmic pounding of my feet upon the sand would lose significance. A sharp buzz rings out from the other side of my eyes, awakening me from the disturbing visions that plague my dreams. For a brief moment I am convinced that it is all it is, a nightmare, and then the reality. I came up closer to the water and checked how cold it was.

Being calm it had so many different hues of blue, reflecting a bright blue sky, near the shore it was pale blue, nearly translucent, as it got deeper it changed from pale blue to deep dark blue. I leaned down to touch the water in the lake. It was cool and so transparent that I could see everything on the bottom. At that moment I felt wonderful smell of roasting meat in the air. This familiar aroma tickled my nostrils and reminded me that I had not eaten since the morning. A ways away from a town that I call home, I found a happy place. I often find myself walking through the park by myself.

The beautiful trees, the way the yellow and red leaves crumple under my feet every step I take. When the flowers bloom and how it's the most spectacular sight you could ever imagine seeing, all the different colors that appear. When you breathe in and you get this smell of purity, you feel free and alive. Sometimes I like to sit on the old wooden bench where the bench frame is a little rusted, and I get rid of my thoughts and my eyes search the sky. In the winter the icy breeze makes me shiver, and the cold air I take in, is like sitting in front of an air conditioner and breathing in. Some mornings the sun beams across the sky, which is not quite blue yet, but the sun has almost fully risen. When the wind blows, it grazes over the blades of grass. Some days I just stand and take a deep breath in and I can taste the spring.

When summer comes around, and the bees are buzzing, and the hot sun beats on the back of my neck, I lay on the soft grass and listen, to the birds chirping a beautiful song, and the kids playing in the park. The sky is the bluest view in sight. Essay Topics Writing. Home Page Research Descriptive Essay On The Beach. Descriptive Essay On The Beach Decent Essays. Open Document. I walked along the beach. As I was walking I could feel the fresh smell of the beach like it was an air freshener but it also smelled that gave me a tingle in my nose. As I kept walking along the beach I could feel the light breeze coming against me.

This fresh air felt warm as I felt like I was sleeping in a comfortable bed. I kept walking in the beach, as I did it felt like an escape to all my problems and also my stress. Beach felt like a solution to all my problems and could be open with anything. As I stroll along, I could feel the soft smooth sand under my feet. The sand was very hot and I walked through it felt like I was walking on a burning grill. The sand was mixed with a different coloured shells. The light from the sun shined on the shell which reflected onto me creating a rainbow. My foot was making marks on the beach as I took every step, these marks remained there until the water came and erased it away.

As I kept walking, I looked around and it felt like I was having the best time of life. The bright shining sun went through my cold skin and give me a feeling of excitement. When I kept walking I could see the birds roaming around the sky like a pack of wolves making irritating squeaky noises as it is hungry and trying to find its prey. The sky turned from dark blue sky to a bright shimmery blue sky. Soft, fluffy big clouds were covering the sky, as it started to split away. As it split away, the sun restored and shined on the waves and the cold water started boiling. As these waves dashed, the noises soothed me every time.

I began walking towards the beach and I stopped at the edge of the beach where I decided to put my toes in the water. As soon as my toes in the water I got this light shiver in my body, where I felt like it touched my soul. I could feel softness when the water covers my leg. At this time, I could remember the time when I used to play with sand and water. I decide to come close to the beach and I could hear fishes screaming frightened of their preys that is looking to eat them. These birds have been trying to find their lunch as they are hungry for it. I can see the dolphins jumping around with a smile on their life. It feels like they having the best time of their life, as. Get Access. Decent Essays. Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Bahamas Words 3 Pages.

The beach is all yours. The sun is warm on your face a gentle breeze coming off the water feels refreshing. The waves flow rhythmically onto the sand. You hear seagulls calling over the powerful ocean. Their voices sound distant compared to the roar of the surf. Walking around the beach made me feel more comfortable than ever. As I stroll along, I could feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. The sand looked clean like sugar spread out for miles, as it squished between our toes and made my calves ache with every step. The sound of the ocean comforted me, the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all my worries. I kicked the water and it responded with a swoosh of its waves.

That brought back memories, when I used to come here with my friends and used to play around in the water. I found it some what amusing to see the sand castles that still remained, the ones we built long ago, the lucky few that made it through reckless little boys play. It was dark outside and stars floated in the distance, but the moon seemed so close, I could grab it and take it in my pocket to keep for myself, so close that I could see it's bright shadow shimmering on the rolling water. Ghost crabs darted past my feet like thieves in the night, going in one hole and out another. One of them climbed to my feet, its legs harmlessly piercing through my skin. I shook it off and it quickly escaped to the nearest hole it could find.

The causeway we drove on was curved and tall enough for the sailboats below to pass under. As I looked down, I could see a group of beautiful condos on the shore. They contrasted brightly with the white sand around them, painted colors normally found in a box of crayons. I took in the sight of all the fancy high-rise condos and hotels, with a few beach huts sprinkled in between. We arrived at our hotel, and I quickly unloaded and unpacked my belongings. The beach was waiting for me. The sand scorched our feet like steaks on a fiery grill.

I had brought the Rock along to join me for a surfing lesson. We snatched our wetsuits and our boards and hit the waves. The ocean water sends a chilling sensation through my body. The polar water feels like a steamy shower after a long day, calming and relaxing. The waves are monstrous and intimidating, however, I seem to ride them effortlessly like I had done it a million times before. I dash past the Rock and under a curling wave. In the waves there are vividly colored fish swimming in schools. The water is so translucent that one can easily see the ocean floor, and the coral and seaweed that lay on….

You see, I do not necessarily care for the blistering hot days southern Florida is known for. I enjoy the beach the most when it is cooler; especially when it has just rained. I sit back in my beach chair and look up to the sky. The clouds create a pleasant, refreshing blanket from the hot sun. I take a deep breath and, I can smell the rain that has just fallen. Now, the clouds are breaking and letting little slivers of sunlight shine threw. The new sun seems to change the color of everything. The sand is a bright white with speckles of glittering shells. The ocean is a deep shade of aqua with the sunlight glistening over it.

This is…. As I sit back and wait in the sand, I marveled at the view around and realized there is nothing like sitting at the ocean, with a line cast out in the water as dusk falls. I begin to notice the environment around me as I sit there, I can smell and taste the salty air I am so close to it. I can hear the waves continuously hitting and receding from the shore. Also, the kids playing on the beach and the bustling of the people on boardwalk can be heard off in the background. Also, seeing the expansive ocean without any sight of land and amazing sight whole new world and under there.

Also, as the light orange sun falls down and reflects on the water it looks truly awesome. It was time to unload our beach supplies. Spending a day at Chesapeake Bay always included our large blue cooler packed with plain turkey sandwiches and ice cold water bottles. My siblings and I had the responsibility to carry our beach tools, such as our yellow sand sifter, sand castle molds, and other various beach toys, to the sandy destination. The walk to the beach from the parking lot was down a skinny dirt pathway through a forest of trees. As we neared the water, the packed down dirt gradually turned to soft white sand. The sound of small waves caressing the shore became audible. It is approximately six in the afternoon on this bright shiny day in September.

Today is a day like no other, for today we will experience the beauty and grace of the beach at night. For quite some time I've been meaning to experience this illusive phenomenon at night. With all the rumors about the beach being a gloomy and mysterious place under the moon lit sky, I just had to see for myself. The thought of reaching the beach was so tantalizing, that anxiety overwhelmed me. I packed the basic beach utensils; beach towels, sun block, playing cards, a guitar and firewood, therefore was set. The only ingredients missing now for my trip to the beach were my friends, and soon quickly found the solution by picking them up. Along the way, the bumpers of cars were visible for miles, as traffic filled the lanes of the 91 and 55 freeways.

As I wake up in the morning, I am suddenly staring at a grayish blue tent; through the inside of the tent, I can also see the beautiful, clear sky through the roof. My ears suddenly tune into the ocean waves splashing against the smooth rocks, and the cawing of seagulls as they glide into the salt waters in search for prey. It was nearly sunset and I was relaxing along the soothing beach in Capitola, California. My brother and sister were assembling sand and shells to make a colossal sand city while my parents were in two chairs chatting. As I was ambling down the oceanfront my feet would feel the chilly waves and I could sense the gentle wind blowing my way. I was reminiscing about the exciting activities previously that day, including swimming through the waves, body surfing, and passing around a volleyball with my brother.

As I cross the state line into Florida, I picture the ocean as being a place of peace and serenity. As I arrive to the beach with all my friends, the eagerness of seeing this peaceful place is rising. As we approach the beach, the first thing I notice is the sky. As I look into the cloudless, cerulean blue sky and see the flawlessness of life; in the distance, rolling clear-blue waves crash into each other with such force as that of football players. The sky is breathtaking along with the sounds of the waves and the tide washing onto the shore. The water reminds me of crystals shimmering in the water with the sun reflecting off of it.

As the sun sets, the sky turns into a pink hue with a bright orange sun going down into the horizon. We stroll on the beach, and my feet sink into the soft sand. I stroll along, and the grainy, slick, brown sugar sand pulls my bare feet under and leaves a perfect imprint. I pick up a handful and sift it from my palm slowly, feeling the grittiness of sand with each finger. The view down the beach of the white, but slightly brown sand was enough to make my knees go weak. The sand is such a sensational feeling between my toes and a beautiful view against the crystal blue water.

The beach is a beautiful scene of peace and tranquility. Every moment is a different scene.

Home — Essay Samples — Life — Beach — Descriptive A Visit To The Beach. This descriptive essay is about the beach. I have used different descriptive techniques in each paragraph to better convey the atmosphere of the beach. Blue Bay Beach is one of the best places which shall remain etched in the minds of the people. If there is such a thing as a heaven on earth, it would be here. The sand is as soft as a pillow, golden brown, sinking under the weight of my feet. A strange, squeaky sound from the sand accompanied each step I take.

Turning back and looking at the trail of the footprints which people are leaving behind. The sea is glittering blue and the gleaming rays of sunlight. The waves crashing on the beach and a roaring sound echoing around the beach. White capped waves gaily rush towards me and then were unwillingly dragged back to the big white ocean. The sun falling into the skyline, streaked colors of orange-red and purple onto that dark blue canvas. The salty ocean scent floating in the wind. Walking down the beach, there is a campfire. The fire is burning as brightly as the sun rays. Majestic flames grabbed for the sky.

Sitting down in the circle of people. A warm feeling lingering in the air. Shutting my eyes and deciding to activate my other senses. A tuneful voice, in a perfect pitch, was singing to the accompaniment of an acoustic guitar. A happy chattering was heard and the stories are being told around a colossal heap of burning sticks. Silently walking away from the crowd. In the distance, the chattering slowly vanishing away. I am alone and now surrounded in the shadows of deep darkness. Sitting down on the soft sand and twist my toes every little while, a little wave gathering courage and creeping up to my toes, giving a little splash and run back to hide. There is no disturbances and no interferences.

My thoughts were simple and all my feelings are calm. In the stillness of the serine night. I started reflecting on the person I am and what I grew to be. I decided to wonder about my purpose in life, my values and everything I have ever worked for. The trees form contour against the darkness and give a shadowy presence around me. The bright blue sky seemed to be infinite, for ever going on. Surrounded by such big things made me realize how small I actually am. To think that the amazing creator of all these actually loved me and knew me by name. The moon, not covered by the clouds, was a round beaming big ball. It gives me a sense of security, that it will always be there for me. I found it to be like my dreams.

Then again, started living in a dream. Life itself is actually a dream in itself that we will one day wake up from into perpetuity of reality. The cheeky small shining stars, twinkling in the dark black sky, seemed to be making fun of my childish dreams and imaginations. The cold breeze brushed against my cheeks, leaving a soft tickling feeling. Feeling amazed by the awesome beauty of nature that is surrounded me. I am spell bound that it was all designed and created by a single person. Taking the sand in my hand and watching them slip through my fingers; it felt like the time is running. A longing out pouring deep within me felt urged to stay there forever, a place so close to all my dreams.

Smiling and satisfying, a feeling that did not have in a long time. The emptiness that once submerges me is now filled with an overflowing spring of joy and happiness. Time flew and before we knew it, it is time to go home. It seems the pressure of the ticking of time did not apply to this incredible place. Knew that in a little while, I will have to go back to my world of mundane, routine life, rushing people with a schedule filled with endless tasks to complete. Taking a deep breath and closed my eyes, a smile on the corners of my lips. For this moment, this is my happiest place visited ever in my life, my heaven and my world. Remember: This is just a sample from a fellow student.
